Water is the biggest local story in Pflugerville right now, and one of the most confusing. Stage 1 restrictions, an $80 million infrastructure project, lake level concerns, rate structure questions. PPP is hosting an in-depth panel with city leadership at the library on June 7, 3 to 5 PM.

Stage 1 water restrictions in effect

Pflugerville moved into modified Stage 1 emergency water restrictions on May 1, 2026, due to treatment capacity limits and a planned pump station shutdown. Outdoor watering schedules are affected. Lake Pflugerville has been hovering just above 633 feet.

Updated Lake Pflugerville park rules

Posted May 5, 2026

New peak-season park hours (5 AM to 9 PM, March 1 through Sept 30), electric and human-powered watercraft only, alcohol prohibited, personal amplified sound systems require a permit, and tents must have 10 feet of clearance for emergency access. Fishing and trail access remain available 24 hours.
